Purpose of the job:
The International Communication Manager is responsible for the editorial communication through most relevant global trade and industry media. This position plans the global PR & communication approach strategically in close co-ordination with respective departments, develops target-oriented communication plans by making use of the relevant product and channel portfolio and manages corresponding productions (compelling story-telling and high quality content).
The International PR & Communication Manager ensures streamlined messaging (keeping commercial goals and marketing aspects in mind) and controls creation and distribution of materials of these premium products, brands and partnerships – always working towards these 3 defined priorities:
- Support positioning the company as a global media player
- Create awareness and understanding for the products, brands and thus the media company
- Establish direct media relations via a professional and centralized communication approach
In the role towards all of the company’s correspondents, the International Communication Manager shares information, provides communication tools and guides and supports the global roll out in the field of TV, digital (online, mobile), radio and print in order to achieve maximum awareness and credibility, to build the brand and drive revenues.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan:
- Develop target-oriented Communication plans/ content in co-ordination with all related departments and spokes people making use of relevant channels and products to build brand awareness and image and support increasing revenues
- Plan strategically according to priorities and budget to service the global media network and manage expectations by mapping out goals, strategies and deliverables prior to execution
Produce:
- Following the plans, manage the production of internationally relevant top quality PR
- Select and manage the right production partners (still/ moving images, freelancer, “PR” agencies), briefing them and safeguarding top quality execution
Distribute:
- Strategically distribute content globally to the appropriate media outlets in print, digital and TV and connect regularly with respective Communication Managers
- Drive the usage of the company’s Content Pool as main source for high quality media productions
Contribute:
- Feed productions (moving images, audio, stills) into the company’s global Content Pool in time, according to its technical specifications and keep all relevant materials updated (the company’s Content Pool, InfoNet, etc.) also delivering the requested documentation
- Provide creative input to drive the establishment of a credible 360degree media company
- Assist in identifying media opportunities to impact the b2b market and provide communication strategies to fulfil the business needs
Establish:
- Develop and maintain relationships with the top leading global trade and industry outlets (personal relationships) in all relevant fields for the media business
Monitor:
- Monitor the media output according to international standards and co-ordinate with the Communication Manager on delivery into the global Coverage Database (InfoNet)
Key Requirements:
- Studies in journalism, PR, Communication or media related business
- Broad experience of the Media and content distribution business with profound Marketing knowledge
- Understanding the way trade and industry media landscape work globally (all channels: broadcast, print, digital)
- A strategic communication specialist who takes initiative and ownership with strong project management competencies (leading external media companies, freelancer, etc)
- Editorial sense (“Editor in Chief”), content and story development experience with strong distribution understanding throughout all international channels
- Broad production knowledge (photography, text, moving images)
- Develop an information portal for the Communication Manager network
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop, media contact databases
- Excellent communication skills, native level English
